Eastern Winter - The Dunbar

Theses are the first images from my new project, newly titled "eastern winter". I'll be working through out the winter months photographing the icy cold, the most dreaded of the seasons here on the east coast, Winter. It's a progressive project with no real goal in mind, except to portray the frigid months in an elegant, artistic, and beautiful way. I think winter has a bad reputation, and maybe these photos will encourage someone to go outside and enjoy the inevitable chilly months.

This images were photographed at New Brunswick's Dunbar falls, near durham bridge. If you look through my blog you'll find some photos I made in the same location, but  as winter has it, things look very different covered in snow. That's why I thought it was appropriate to revisit the dunbar for the first installment of Eastern Winter and this is what I came up with.

Experimenting with freelens technique- "Joise Puppy"

These are a few examples of freelensing. To freelens means to make photographs with the lens unattached or free from the camera. The effect is similar to tilt shift photography with very shallow depth of field and selective focus.
